In the winter of 1958, somewhere between a government listening post and the edge of the ionosphere, a signal was captured that no one could explain. Logged as Transmission Leaflet 1225 in the classified archives of a now-defunct research bureau, it arrived in fragments — a burst of structured noise, as if something out there wanted to be understood.
The analysts called it a ghost signal. The frequency was wrong though. The origin, unknown. The message? A haunting visage — cold, deliberate, unmistakably designed — broadcast from a far-flung corner of space no known satellite had ever reached.
